| Judson Riley Johnson was born on October 8, 1895 somewhere in Florida and died on December 8, 1959 in Bay Co., Florida. He lived to be 64 years old.
The story passed down says, while his grandparents traveled the Trail of Tears, his family managed to escape and hide in the woods in the Panhandle area of Florida. Their last name had been something like Floss or Fasuh and they changed it to Johnson. They would send the younger children to spy on white families and learn how to act "white". The children would also steal clothes and the women would copy them so everyone in the family could dress correctly. The family learned to speak English by refusing to speak their native language.
His grandparents were James Bartley Johnson (1814 GA - 1900 FL) and Elizabeth Ann Moniac (1817 GA);
His parents were George Riley Johnson (6/13/1860 Gadsden Co. FL - 3/5/1938 Panama City, FL) and Elizabeth Meyers (8/14/1861 GA - 1/17/1944 Pamama City, FL).
