Born in Calhoun Co., Florida on April 25, 1915 and died in Columbus, Georgia on April 18, 1972. He was 57 years old.

He married Bessie Lee Lauramore on March 18, 1935. They had seven sons. The first one, Jimmy Earl, died in infancy and is buried at Red Oak Cemetery, Blountstown, FL.
