Mary Elizabeth Franklin 11/13/1844 - 10/17/1918 Mary Elizabeth Franklin was born on 11/13/1844 in Baker County, GA and died on 10/17/1918 in Blountstown, FL. She was 74 years old. First marriage to ______ Studstill. They had some children, but they all died as infants. She later married Caleb Joshua Halley. The following rhyme has been handed down in the family. It was a way to remember the children of Caleb & Mary Halley. The names are sung in groups of three, in a sing song fashion: John, Pierce, Polly, Suzey, Nancy, Mollie, Emmie, Tempey, Charlie, and little Joe Halley.
Census 11/26/1850 7th District FL (Gadsden County) 6 yrs old Recorded as family #424: Francis Franklin (male, age 33), Gadsy (female, age 29), Martha (female, age 7), Eliza (female, age 7), Mary (female, age 5), Benjamin (male, age 2) and Henry Egeston (male, age 23). Francis is a farmer and estimates the value of his estate to be $300. Everyone was born in Georgia except the youngest child and Henry who were born in Florida.  Census 7/2/1870 Oklokonee District FL (Wakulla County) 26 yrs old Dweling# 12, family#9 - Caleb Holly (age 27,born in AL), Mary (age 24, keeping house, born in Georgia), Nancy (age 4, born in FL) and John (8 months old, born in FL).
