Harley James Wilds, Sr., was born on January 14, 1916 in Melford, Illinois and died on May 8, 1969 in Jacksonville, Florida. He lived to be 53 years old.

Harley was a Master Sergeant and a gunner on a B-25 in the US Air Force and stationed in various places during World War II. He was shot down over Julich Germany and taken as a POW. He survived the death march to Poland and was liberated.
He married Josephine Davis in 1942, they divorced. They had two children.
In 1951 or 52 he married Violet Mae Dale. She had three children of her own, that Harley adopted. Harley and Violet also had two children of their own: Jimmy Kyle Wilds (1952- 2005) and Sandra F. Wilds

Samuel Wilds Dies at Age 73
Samuel C. Wilds, 607 East 8th Street, 73, died at 10:03 p.m. Saturday night at Naeve Hospital. Ill for two years, death was caused by cancer.
A native of Queensville, Ind., he was born Dec. 31, 1885. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Wilds, Sr.
He married Stella May Brooks in 1903 at Columbus, Ind. A farmer most of his life he lived at Carroll, Iowa until 1928 when he moved to a farm near Blue Earth. He has been an employe at Wilson & Co. since moving to Albert Lea 15 years ago.
A member of the First Methodist Church he was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters and one daughter Mrs. Lynn (Gladys) Knight.
His wife, Della May and six children survive. The two duaghters are Mrs. Thomas (Velma) Pachl and Mrs. Sylvia O'Rourko both of Albert Lea. The sons are Harold H., Herschel E. and Horace G. all of Albert Lea and M.Sgt. Harley J. Wilds stationed at San Antonio, Tex. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren, and six sisters and 2 brothers in Indiana.
Services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the First Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul W. Neal officiating. Burial will be at the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call at the Bonnerup and Son Funeral Home.
