John married Mary on 3/25/1902 in Jackson Co. FL at Mary's parents home; . He was a farmer and by age 26 he had a large farm, fully furnished house, horses and a carriage. Married in Jackson Co. FL at the home of James and Sarah Boggs (his in-laws);

He and wife Mary had 7 Children:
  1. James Burl Peacock (1/30/1905 - 11/19/2001)- married Dannie M. Hansford,
  2. John Burdette Peacock (1/11/1907 - 2/21/1944),
  3. Ora Lee Peacock (11/16/1908 -6/11/1967) - married Robert D. Chambless,
  4. Robert Daniel Peacock (4/4/1911 - ) - married Ruby Lord,
  5. Mary Vera Peacock (3/25/1914 -6/17/2000) - married George F. Hester,
  6. Sarah Edith Peacock (4/7/ 1916 -6/14/1921) - died of diphtheria, and
  7. Minnie Bell Peacock (12/7/1918- 2/16/2007) married L.Z. Ward (1938-1993).
After the death of his wife he moved and lived near his daughter Ora Lee until his death.

6 1882 The Florida Central and Western Railroad Company was created. It combines the Florida Central, Jacksonville, Pensacola, and Mobile railroads.
7 1883 Three railroad companies are merged to form the Florida Transit and Penisular Railroad Company. Thee are: Florida Transit Railroad Co., Peninsular Railroad Co, and the Tropical Florida Railroad Co.
8 1884 Most railroads in Florida are passed into the hands of a single company owned and operated by a single management, under the name of The Florida Railway and Navigation Company. It has more that 500 miles of main track in operation and about 300 miles of track under construction. The longest route was the "Western Division" which ran from Tallahassee to Jacksonville - 209 miles.
