Jessie Florence Parish
4/15/1871 - 1902
Jessie Florence Parish was born on 4/15/1871 somewhere in FL and died about 1902 in Blountstown, FL. She was 31 years old.

While her daughter (Jessie Florence) would not talk about it much, she did say Florence was an Hitchiti Indian. The Creek Indian village named Hitchiti (or Hitichi), a Muscogee Tribe on the east bank of the Chattahoochee river, 4 miles below Auhegee Creek (Flint River?) in Georgia. The town would have been destroyed during the Creek Indian Wars (1813-1830s). See also Hitchiti Tribe.

She also taught her daughter (Jessie Florence) how to cook several traditional Indian dishes.
